This boulder opal came from Winton, Queensland, a region known for producing opals with character rather than perfection. Stones from this area often carry their ironstone host rock with them, a reminder of where they came from and how long they took to form.

I was drawn to this one because it didn't try too hard. The blue wasn't electric or neon. It was layered, nuanced, shifting like water over sand. And that hidden green flash at one end? That felt like the stone had a secret it would only share with the person who wore it daily.
